Life, America, and the Road to Key West: A Biker's Perspective
In the summer of 2018, I set out on a motorcycle journey from New York City to Key West, Florida. I had always dreamed of riding across America, and I was eager to experience the country's diverse landscapes and cultures. I packed my motorcycle with all the essentials—tent, sleeping bag, cooking gear, and a few changes of clothes—and hit the open road.
My first stop was Philadelphia, where I visited Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. I was struck by the city's rich history and its role in the founding of the United States. From Philadelphia, I rode south through Delaware and Maryland, and into Virginia. I stopped at Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington, and learned about his life and legacy. I continued south through North Carolina and South Carolina, and into Georgia. I rode through the Blue Ridge Mountains, and marveled at their beauty. I stopped at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site in Atlanta, and learned about his life and work. I continued south through Alabama and Florida, and finally reached Key West. I had ridden over 2,000 miles, and I had seen some of the most amazing places in the country.
