Synopsis
On January 31, 1953, the Princess Victoria ferry set sail from Stranraer, Scotland, bound for Belfast, Northern Ireland. The weather was stormy, but the ferry was considered to be one of the safest in the British fleet. However, just hours into the journey, the ferry was caught in a fierce gale and began to sink.
In the chaos that followed, passengers and crew were thrown into the icy waters. Only 44 people survived, and their harrowing ordeal is recounted in this gripping account. The Desperate Journey is a testament to the bravery and resilience of those who put their lives on the line to save others.
