Johnson's journey to the Olympics was not without its challenges. She suffered several injuries along the way, including a broken ankle and a torn ACL. But she never gave up on her dream. She worked hard to overcome her injuries and become one of the best gymnasts in the world.
At the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, Johnson won four medals: a gold medal in the all-around, a silver medal in the team competition, a bronze medal on the balance beam, and a bronze medal on the floor exercise. She was the most decorated American gymnast at the Games.
After the Olympics, Johnson continued to compete in gymnastics. She won the all-around title at the 2009 World Championships and was part of the gold medal-winning American team at the 2010 World Championships. She retired from competitive gymnastics in 2012.
Since retiring from gymnastics, Johnson has worked as a commentator and analyst for NBC Sports. She has also written two books, "Winning Balance: What I've Learned So Far About Love, Faith, and Living Your Dreams" and "The Flip Side: My Story of Gymnastics, Gold, and Grace."
