Early life and career
Jane Marie Lynch was born on July 14, 1960, in Evergreen Park, Illinois. She is the daughter of Frank Lynch, a banker, and Eileen Lynch, a homemaker. Lynch has two older sisters, Kathleen and Emily. Lynch attended Thornwood High School in South Holland, Illinois, where she was a member of the drama club. After graduating from high school, Lynch attended Illinois State University, where she studied theater. Lynch graduated from Illinois State University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater.
After graduating from college, Lynch moved to Chicago, where she began her acting career.
