During that time, Nuttall experienced firsthand the brutality and dehumanization of the prison system. He was beaten, sexually assaulted, and denied basic necessities. But he also found hope and redemption in the most unexpected places.

In Cast Adrift, Nuttall tells the story of his journey through the prison system. He writes about the violence, the despair, and the racism that he witnessed. But he also writes about the kindness and compassion that he found among his fellow inmates.

Cast Adrift is a powerful and moving account of one man's journey into the heart of captivity. It is a story of survival, resilience, and the power of the human spirit.

Reviews

"Cast Adrift is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand the realities of the prison system in the United States. Nuttall's writing is honest, raw, and deeply moving. He gives us a glimpse into a world that is often hidden from view, and he does so with compassion and insight." - Michelle Alexander, author of The New Jim Crow

"Cast Adrift is a powerful and unforgettable memoir. Nuttall's story is one of hope and redemption, but it is also a searing indictment of the American justice system. This book is a must-read for anyone who cares about social justice." - Bryan Stevenson, author of Just Mercy
